Hi Lauren, I can't remember the name of the shop I bought it from, but using google map's I can tell you where it is. It's between Namba and Nippombashi stations, opposite a Jumbo Entertainment Pachinko hall. Here's a link for the map (it should load with an actual image of the store, though the store itself has changed a little since) http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=nippombashi,+osaka&sll=49.439557,-93.779297&sspn=26.751142,79.101563&ie=UTF8&ll=34.666433,135.503429&spn=0,359.995172&t=h&z=18&layer=c&cbll=34.665446,135.503345&panoid=Mfv9k-3UqnhTbFCXpaSePg&cbp=12,288.55901029633714,,0,8.799999999999999

Not really. It's all to do with context and meaning. So if, like in my situation, it was obvious that the giver had no signs of affection it'd be girichoko. Having not received honmeichoko I don't know the 'protocol' as such, but I'd guess she'd kinda let you know somehow.
